The Abbeville Harbor & Terminal District creates jobs and business opportunities through managing district and port assets in an environmentally sensitive manner, and also through continued growth and development of industry and business across the district area. The District Commission is comprised of the 3rd, 7th, and a portion of the 2nd Wards of Vermilion Parish, in the areas surrounding the Vermilion River south of Abbeville and Intracoastal City. The AHTD owns a facility, the Port of Vermilion, which is primarily an industrial park and the present center of the district’s growth and economic development. In 2012, port tenants employed 400+ skilled and semi-skilled laborers, generated payroll of $20+ million, and constructed projects valued at $55,000,000. The AHTD continues to work to develop and enhance the economy of the district and the surrounding area, and will continue to cooperate with local, state and federal government to secure state and federal grants, and available local funding, for future improvements.
Acadiana Economic Development Council (AEDC)
The Acadiana Economic Development Council, Inc. (AEDC) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization founded by local economic developers and incorporated in 2004. AEDC represents the primary economic development organizations in the Acadiana Parishes (Counties) of Acadia, Evangeline, Iberia, Lafayette, St. Landry, St. Martin, and Vermilion.

Acadiana Regional Development District (ARDD)

The Acadiana Regional Development District is one of eight planning districts for the State of Louisiana dedicated to serve the people, businesses, communities, and local government units within the eight parishes (counties) of Acadia, Evangeline, Iberia, Lafayette, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Mary, and Vermilion. Established by Legislative Act in 1967, ARDD was organized to assist municipal and parish governments and has grown into an agency that focuses on business retention and creation in Region Four. ARDD is a quasi-governmental agency governed by a twenty-one member Board of Directors.
Kaplan Chamber of Commerce
The Kaplan Area Chamber of Commerce is organized for the purpose of promoting the commercial, civic, industrial and general welfare of the Kaplan area, the city of Kaplan and Vermilion Parish. The chamber is a non-profit, non-partisan and non-sectarian organization.

MEPOL is a sponsored program of the South Louisiana Community College serving Louisiana manufacturers statewide. Established in 1997, MEPOL is partially funded by a cooperative agreement with the Department of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership (HMEP). MEPoL’s mission is to provide Louisiana Manufacturers value-driven, best-practice solutions. MEPOL offers services through in-house consulting and third party providers. MEPOL’s internal core services include Innovation and Growth Services, Lean Solutions, Polymer Services, and some portions of the Marketing, Technical, Workforce and Quality Solutions.

The Vermilion Chamber of Commerce is a not-for-profit organization owned and operated by business leaders who care about our community. Vermilion Parish Police Jury
The Vermilion Parish Police Jury serves as the center for parish government in Vermilion Parish. The Jury provides services to the parish that include: Animal Control, Communications District 911, Homeland Security/Emergency Preparedness, Permits and Public Works.
